Reviewing principles

Papers will be accepted for publication if they are of empirical, empirical-theoretical or theoretical nature. They have to contain substantive values with an appropriate form of presentation if they use appropriate research methods. If they refer to the achievements of the following disciplines: economics and finance, legal sciences, management and quality science and properly documented.

The editors of the journal of Finance and Financial Law prefer the articles in English (although they also publish them in Polish). The content of the article written in Polish should be accompanied by the title and an abstract in English.

Polish-speaking authors writing in English are required to attach an abstract in Polish to the article. The journal editors prefer to cite literature sources from the Web of Science or Scopus databases.

The submission of an article for publication in Finance and Financial Law is equivalent to the author's agreement to submit to the review procedure adopted in the journal.

 

Review procedure

The procedure for reviewing articles submitted to the journal „Finance and Financial Law„ is in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science.

It consists of the following stages:

  1. The initial evaluation by the journal editorial board in terms of formalities and compliance with the journal's profile.
  2. Selection by thematic editors and the editor-in-chief of two reviewers from experts recognized in the field, guaranteeing the independence of their opinions, absence of conflict of interest with both the author and the entity commissioning, and preserving the confidentiality of both the content of the reviewed materials and their opinions. The reviewers selected are reliable and knowledgeable in their field. The review procedure is anonymous and confidential (double-blind review).The list of reviewers is published on the Journal’s website.

    The review shall be in writing and shall end with an unequivocal conclusion:

    • directing the article for publication,
    • directing the article for publication after considering the corrections suggested by the reviewer,
    • directing the article for publication after significant rewriting and re-review,
    • rejecting the article.
  3. The article will be directed to a statistical reviewer if the article contains complex empirical research with statistical or econometric inference.
  4. Submitting the article (prepared in English) after positive reviews to the editor of the English language (native speaker), who will revise it.

The condition of submitting an article for publication is obtaining positive reviews, meeting formal requirements, signing the Author's Declaration by the author (or one of the coauthors).

If at least one negative review is received, the article will not be published. In other cases, the editorial office asks the authors for a written reference to the review.

The final decision on the publication of the article is made by the thematic editors and the editor-in-chief of the journal based on the reviews and the final version of the article submitted by the author.

The author is informed about the review results and suggested changes.

Evaluation criteria

The evaluation of the article takes into account the following criteria: compliance of the issues with the journal's profile and the topicality of the issues raised, the article's contribution to the knowledge of the research subject and the possibility of applying the presented research results in practice, substantive and linguistic correctness.

The reviewer evaluates the extent to which the article meets all criteria on a scale of 1–5. The author can earn a maximum of 60 points.
