Nowadays space economy is treated as a separate scientific discipline which originates from urban sciences, economics, regional sciences and economic geography. Its research horizon is vast and complex that is why it is very difficult to give consisted definition of this discipline. It is also more difficult since space economy combines theoretical as well as practical aspects. Among other features of spatial economy one can mention its eclectics and holistic attitude. It is important that it integrates various sciences which are located between demography, sociology, environmental studies, economy and planning. What is common and specific for them is their practical and empirical dimension.
