Po co nam autoetnografia? Krytyczna analiza autoetnografii jako metody badawczej

Abstrakt

Jeżeli chcemy uznać autoetnografię za prawomocną metodę badawczą, należy wyraźnie określić, jakie wartości poznawcze wnosi ona do procesu badawczego. W artykule zostaną zrekonstruowane sposoby definiowania autoetnografii przez jej zwolenników oraz funkcje, jakie pełni autoetnografia dla jej twórcy i odbiorcy. Omówione będą także typy autoetnografii z uwzględnieniem specyfiki ich założeń ontologicznych i epistemologicznych. Rozważania te zostaną usytuowane w szerszym kontekście debat metodologicznych nad nowymi sposobami definiowania wiedzy naukowej i kryteriów poznania w naukach społecznych oraz związanych z nimi problemów demarkacyjnych, oddzielających czynności naukowe od czynności pseudonaukowych czy pseudoliterackich. Podstawę analityczną stanowić będą artykuły metodologiczne, ale także teksty, które realizują metodologiczne deklaracje entuzjastów tej metody.

Joanna Bielecka-Prus, dr, adiunkt w Instytucie Socjologii Uniwersytetu Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej. Jej zainteresowania badawcze koncentrują się wokół problematyki badań jakościowych i wykorzystywania tych metod w badaniach terenowych nad wykluczeniem społecznym, marginalizacją społeczną, obcością i tożsamością społeczną.
