Abstrakt

Wychodząc od koncepcji poszerzonego świata społecznego w ujęciach socjologii nowego materializmu oraz socjologii wegańskiej, autorka przeprowadziła pilotaż w kwestii widoczności i niewidoczności starzejących się osób zwierzęcych w przestrzeni publicznej oraz internecie. Podąża ona za przesłankami związanymi z ukrywaniem starych zwierząt w sytuacji, kiedy ich wygląd może budzić dyskomfort lub zniechęcać do odwiedzania danego ośrodka (na przykładach ogrodów zoologicznych czy schronisk dla zwierząt), niewidocznością wynikającą z samoizolacji lub niedożywania starości, co ma miejsce w przypadku zwierząt hodowlanych, oraz za eksponowaniem starości (na przykładach sanktuariów i azylów) w celu zbudowania więzi z obserwującymi i nakłonienia ich do wpłacania darowizn na leczenie konkretnych osobników i utrzymanie ośrodków.

Adiunktka w Katedrze Socjologii Sztuki Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego. Doktora socjologii i magistra etnologii i teatrologii. Psycholożka osób zwierzęcych. Wykładowczyni na Wydziale Artes Liberales Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego oraz na Uniwersytecie Medycznym w Łodzi. Porusza się w obszarach doświadczenia: różnorodności, choroby, śmierci, żałoby (straty) i bezdomności – zarówno ludzi, jak i osób zwierzęcych. Zainteresowana zagadnieniem terapii poprzez fotografię – jako terapeutka i badaczka. Organizuje i prowadzi kręgi żałoby po osobach zwierzęcych oraz związane z żałobą ekologiczną i stratami samobójczymi. E-wydawczyni zina o tematyce żałobnej – Lost&Found Grief Mega*Zine.
