Author Biography

• Bogusław Śliwerski, University of Łódź, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Department of Educational Theory
  Professor of Pedagogy (social science) at the University of Lodz; since 1994 member of the board of the Polish Pedagogy Committee for the Science Academy in Warsaw, since 2012 the President of it. Since 2010 he has also been a professor at the Academy of Special Education at the Institute of Education. He founded the journal entitled Studies on the Theory of Education (Studia z Teorii Wychowania) and has been the Editor of four international Handbooks of educational studies (Gdansk 2006–2010). He managed numerous projects in educational research and authored over 700 publications in his own research areas: humanistic education, anthropological and philosophical as well as empirical and practical discourse in modern and postmodern education in a comparative perspective. His research interests include areas of pedagogy, theory of education, alternative education, comparative education, theory of school.
