Rules regarding special issues

Rural Periodicals [Zeszyty Wiejskie], being a member of COPE since 2020, adheres to the guidelines for editing special issues following COPE recommendations: https://doi.org/10.24318/7cKLAia0

  1. Special issues are curated supplementary editions that consist of articles, the subject of which falls within the thematic scope of the Rural Periodicals [Zeszyty Wiejskie].
  2. Special issues are overseen by the Editorial Team.
  3. Manuscripts for special issues should be prepared according to the general submission rules (see: here) and submitted via email: wiejskie@uni.lodz.pl.
  4. Each submission for the special issue is managed by the Editor-in-Chief, or the Editor-in-Chief entrusts this task to the selected Editorial Team members.
  5. Selected Editors coordinate the editorial process of articles submitted to the special issue and are responsible for assigning external peer-reviewers.
  6. All articles published in the Rural Periodicals, inclusive of those appearing in special issues, are peer-reviewed by at least two external reviewers (see: Review procedure).
  7. Selected Editors are responsible for sending out review requests, collecting the reviews received, as well as informing the Editor-in-Chief about the ongoing progress of the review process of the articles submitted to the special issues.
  8. After the peer-review process is completed and the Reviewers' recommendations have been taken into account by the Authors, the articles, along with the completed review forms, are forwarded to the Editor-in-Chief.
  9. The Editor-in-Chief and selected Editors verify the compliance of the articles' content with the journal's thematic scope and whether the review process was conducted correctly.
  10. The final decision on the publication of articles curated for a special issue is made by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal in consultation with the Team.
  11. The Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Team reserve the right to withdraw an article if that article exceeds the thematic scope of the journal, does not meet the definition of a scientific article, contains false information, or if the author has violated the ethical principles adopted by the journal.
  12. In other matters, the principles of publication ethics adopted by the Editorial Team apply (see: Publication Ethics).
  13. The Editorial Team members are responsible for forwarding all articles to the Publisher.
  14. Special issues are published as supplementary issues, outside of the journal's publishing schedule.
  15. The number of special issues published within a year cannot exceed the number of regular issues.
