“Thinking Transformations” – an Introduction to the Issues

Abstract

The text presents the content of the thematic issue devoted to the reflection on the issue of “thinking transformations”, related to the processes of professionalization and, more generally, to the interrelated transformations of activities and entities occurring in and through their activities.

Author Biographies

Jean-Marie Barbier, Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Chaire Unesco – ICP, Paris, France

Barbier Jean-Marie, professor emeritus at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in Paris, specialist in the field of adult education, activity analysis and experience construction processes. In research, education and professional activity, he adopts the paradigm referred to as “the discovery of activity” (entrée activité). He has an honorary doctorate from the Catholic University in Louvain. Together with Augustin Mutuale, he is responsible for the UNESCO Chair ‘Formation Professionnelle, Construction Personnelle, Transformations Sociales’, at the Catholic University in Paris. He is the chair of the Biennale Internationale de l’Education, de la Formation et des Pratiques Professionnelles.

Ewa Marynowicz-Hetka, Uniwersytet Łódzki, Polska

Marynowicz-Hetka Ewa, social pedagogue, Professor Emeritus of the Humanities, University of Lodz, D.H.C. University of Ostrava. Research interests: reflection on the basis of social pedagogy in the field of practice; training for social professions and action in the field of social/societal work; epistemological and methodological issues of social comprehension as a discipline and as orientation of social activity. She is the editor-in-chief of the journal “Educational Sciences. Interdisciplinary Studies” produced by the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Lodz and the Lodz University Press.
