Abstract

The personal city marks the fraction of the wider urban territory, dealt out thanks to becoming rooted and symbolic appropriating, letting the law to recognizing this part for the personal spatial distance. Almost every individual or group aims to possess the own, specific segment of the space reflecting her values, preferences and ambitions. This might be the house, apartment, the fragment of street, yard, village, a.s.o. The same material space can have different values for many various subjects. Every such space is also the component of the wider, non-spatial system of the values. Inside urban social fabric exist smaller arrangements, in many features convergent with local communities.

The personal city is intimate, woven from the thick net of personal contacts, interaction, ties, dependences, affirmation and animosity – by way of the natural draw of things happen between ‘us’ mainly. This is also definite convictions on his subject – pictures and visions. He is something unique in meaning: inimitable, individual and own.
