The sharing economy has become an inseparable element of the contemporary tourism economy. As an alternative way of offering goods and services, it has significantly changed the global tourism market. The paper attempts to present – on the example of the Airbnb – the phenomenon of sharing economy in tourism in Polish cities. The scale of Airbnb rentals in Poland, the dynamics of its development, the characteristic of the offers, as well as the issues of spatial diversification were analyzed. The study is based on data obtained from the AirDNA portal (as of November 2017).
