The aim of my presentation would be to try to look on the critical and artistic achievement of Stefan Kisielewski from the musical and literary perspectives. The ways of writing about music, the musical and literary metaphors, and finally connections between musical and literary language are the key issues which occupy not only literary critics but also musicologists. In the context of Kisielewski's works they become especially inspiring. His Dzienniki prove that music and literature are two different areas of activity.
Referring to chosen texts from the volumes: Muzyka i mózg, Z muzycznej międzyepoki, Z literackiego lamusa, I would like to think about the ways of writing about music and point the special features of the literary masterpiece, whose author is a writer, music critic, publicist and composer in one person.
