Abstract

The article offers an analysis of the perfective aspect within the approach of communicational grammar. The author provided an overview of selected verbs with a communication-based analysis of those which consist of recreating predicate-argument systems and their combinations (the so-called communicational scenarios) to indicate the impact of aspect on the resulting configuration of meaning. The text also includes examples of the analysis of metaphorical expressions.

Grażyna Habrajska – professor, head of the Chair of Journalism and Social Communication, University of Lodz. For the past few years has been developing with A. Awdiejew the theory of communicational grammar, publishing major works on the subject. Her academic interests include: the theory and practice of communication (communication studies) in terms of verbal and visual communication, communication grammar, discourse analysis, persuasion and manipulation, axiology in communication, etc. Together with A. Awdiejew she published Wprowadzenie do gramatyki komunikacyjnej vol. 1 (2004) and vol. 2 (2006), and Komponowanie sensu w procesie odbioru komunikatów (2010).
