About the journal

Academic series Acta Universitatis Lawodsis. Folia Linguistica Rossica is a specialized scientific journal operating at the Department of Linguistics of the Institute of Russian Studies, University of Lodz. It was established in 2003 thanks to the support of the Faculty of Philology Council and the approval of the Publishing Council of the University of Lodz.

Our periodical favors integration and activation in undertaking research in the field of Russian philology and, more broadly, East Slavic philology. On its pages we publish publications of both our employees and authors from Polish and foreign Slavic centers with which the Department of Linguistics has been cooperating for many years.

In their research, the authors present historical and contemporary as well as comparative approaches. In their articles, international specialists-philologists have so far addressed, inter alia, issues in the field of semantics, stylistics, ethnolinguistics and cognitive science. There were also studies covering the issues of etymology of selected linguistic units, problems of linguocultural competence and linguistic pragmatics. The research was carried out on the material of various types of texts.

Focus and Scope of the Journal

Acta Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Linguistica Rossica is an annual of the Lodz Ruthenian scientific community, which specializes primarily in Russian linguistics. We accept works devoted to, inter alia, studies in the field of applied Russian, historical and comparative linguistics, but also translation studies and glottodidactics. We are interested in interesting interpretative proposals and innovative research methodologies in the field of linguistics, including comparative studies that also cover the relationship between the language, literature and culture of Russia and other linguistic areas.

The aim of the journal is to present original, multifaceted and creative studies in the field of Slavic language, and thus – to expand the current state of research and knowledge. In addition, the journal aims to present to a wider audience information about the university’s research and teaching activities, disseminating opinions on Russian and, more broadly, East Slavic philology, and integrating the Ruthenian scientific community, both from Polish and foreign centers. The journal publishes articles in Russian, Polish, English, Ukrainian and Belarusian, which guarantees the journal’s recognition in academic circles in Europe and around the world.

The editorial staff of the magazine consists of employees of the Faculty of Philology at the University of Lodz, and the scientific council and the group of reviewers are eminent humanists from Poland and abroad.

The journal is open to both experienced scientists and young scientists.

As part of the presented series of publications, the possibility of publishing dissertations or separate monographs, reports, reviews, polemics, bibliographies and post-conference materials is considered.
