The text refers to two translations of “Trans-Atlantic” by Witold Gombrowicz – English and Italian. The essay focuses on the last chapter of the novel, tracking down its translatory dark and blind alleys. It presents not only an analysis and critique of the existing translations, but also proposes solutions that would effectively bring the phenomenon of Gombrowicz in foreign languages.Downloads
