Abstract

Research works of the castellan castle of Raciąż near Tuchola were conducted by the Archaeological Department of University of Łódź. The castellany of Raciąż together with the mediaeval castle and Tuchola and the castle of the Commander of the Teutonic Order were the subjects of investigations. A very precise survey of written sources was one of the stages of conducted studies. On this basis it was stated that the mediaeval castle of Raciąż was existing from the first half till the end of the XIIIth century. However, its earlier or later existance cannot be excluded.
