Abstrakt

W artykule poruszono kwestię kontrurbanizacji oraz jej związków z jakością życia na wsi. W pierwszej części artykułu zarysowano rozumienie pojęcia kontrurbanizacji i przedstawiono szeroki przegląd literatury międzynarodowej, jaka na przestrzeni ostatnich kilkudziesięciu lat powstała na ten temat. Odniesiono się zwłaszcza do tych prac, które wskazują na potrzebę prowadzenia badań z zakresu kontrurbanizacji w Europie Środkowo-Wschodniej. W dalszej części przeanalizowano różne motywy migracji na peryferyjne obszary wiejskie, zwłaszcza w kontekście powiązań pomiędzy procesami kontrurbanizacji a jakością życia. Zwrócono uwagę zarówno na motywy pozytywne – migracja na obszary wiejskie powodowana chęcią podniesienia jakości życia, oraz negatywne (migracje powodowane presją sytuacji życiowej) – wybór wsi jako miejsca za-mieszkania wynikający z chęci redukcji kosztów utrzymania czy konieczności zaopiekowania się najbliższymi krewnymi. W końcowej części artykułu, na podstawie istniejącego stanu wiedzy sformułowano propozycję kilku problemów badawczych, które zdaniem autorek powinny w najbliższym czasie zostać podjęte na gruncie polskim, w ramach szerokich interdyscyplinarnych studiów z zakresu geografii, socjologii i innych nauk społecznych.
