Concerned about the prestige of the journal, the editors of Acta Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Litteraria Romanica make every effort to ensure that the articles published in it are original and represent the highest scientific quality. Therefore, we attach great importance to, among others, the issue of plagiarism, as its late detection cancan cause significant damage, including reputational damage, not only to the author but also to their affiliated institution, to a given title or publisher.
The journal Acta Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Litteraria Romanica employs rigorous procedures to ensure the originality of all published scientific work. We utilize Similarity Check system, a leading plagiarism detection tool, to compare submitted articles against a vast database of online manuscripts. This software provides near-instantaneous feedback, highlighting any similarities to existing publications. Importantly, the reports generated by this system are carefully reviewed by our editorial team. This human review is crucial, as the report may identify similarities that are not plagiarism, such as correctly quoted material, properly formatted references, and legitimate use of common phrases. Our editorial team is trained to distinguish between these instances and actual plagiarism.
The system meets all relevant data protection regulations and confidentiality standards, including GDPR.

- The journal Acta Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Litteraria Romanica does not recognize any form of plagiarism or other abuses of this kind. In the event of any suspicion or accusation of plagiarism, the editors take appropriate steps to investigate and clarify the situation.
- In order to avoid the publication of an article that shows features of plagiarism, the editorial office uses an anti-plagiarism system.
- The anti-plagiarism policy of the journal is aimed at preventing all forms of plagiarism, protecting and respecting original research results, shaping responsible attitudes among researchers and protecting the authors’ intellectual property.
- The editors of the journal stipulate that any manifestations of scientific misconduct will be reported and documented. Submitting a text for publication by the author means that he has recognized and reliably signaled the works of researchers whose scientific achievements are referred to in his article.
- If plagiarism is detected after the publication of the article, the text is removed from the journal. In addition, the institutions employing the author, reviewers and injured parties are notified of the situation and its consequences.
