Certification of the Polish language as a foreign language from the perspective of examination committees

Abstract

This paper contains the remarks on some bearings of state system of certification of proficiency in Polish as a foreign language, in the focus of examinators, especially the chairmen of the exam commissions. The base for those opinions are documents regulating this system of certification and observations and conclusions after numerous exams. The main topics of remarks are: selection of examinators, their education and competences, the process of preparing for examining and being the chairman of exam commission, tasks and mood of work by chairmen and multilateral cooperation between all subjects which create the system of state exams of Polish. The author emphasizes those important problems (in organization of exams and in their main subject) which are not express clearly in the state certificate documents.
