• Fernando Blanco-Robles - FORTH-Institute for Mediterranean Studies

  Fernando Blanco-Robles, PhD in Ancient History at the University of Valladolid (Spain), is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Mediterranean Studies (Crete, Greece), as part of the research project SlaVEgents: Enslaved persons in the making of societies and cultures in Western Eurasia and North Africa, 1000 BCE–300 CE, funded by the European Research Council. His main line of research is the study of slavery in Antiquity, specifically during the Roman period, with special attention to the provinces of Hispania. Furthermore, he has followed other investigation fields regarding problems of Roman imperialism, romanization, and the identity of ancient populations.
