Abstrakt

Od końca XX w. obserwuje się zwiększone zainteresowanie udziałem dzieci w badaniach społecznych. Pomimo wskazówek zawartych w kodeksach badawczych, realizowanie badań społecznych związanych z uczestnictwem dzieci wiąże się z szeregiem złożonych etycznych i prawnych problemów i wyzwań. Angażowanie dzieci do tego typu przedsięwzięć prowadzi do konfliktu pomiędzy dwoma, czasami sprzecznymi celami, mianowicie potrzebą uzyskania coraz bardziej docenianej informacji od tej kategorii uczestników i etycznym nakazem ochrony szeroko rozumianego dobra dziecka, które może zostać w badaniu naruszone.

Autorka opisuje genezę i standardy etyczne obowiązujące na świecie w badaniach społecznych z udziałem dzieci i młodzieży. Akcentuje specyfikę zasad etycznych w odniesieniu do dzieci oraz na przykładzie badań fokusowych prezentuje przykłady „dobrych praktyk” realizacji zasad etycznych wobec nieletnich uczestników badań.
