Résumé

Cet article répond à la nécessité d’une approche croisée de l’anatomie et de l’alchimie en matière d’iconographie. En effet, dans ces deux champs, les représentations récurrentes du corps féminin, ou iconogynie, à travers nombre de publications des XVI^e et XVII^e siècles invitent à interroger la question du genre indépendamment, autant que faire se peut, du discours écrit. L’étude porte sur une trentaine d’illustrations, plus ou moins familières aux historiens des textes et des idées, et vise à contribuer à l’imaginaire du corps prémoderne.

Biographie de l'auteur

Hervé Baudry, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa

Hervé Baudry est chercheur principal au CHAM-Centre for the Humanities de l’université nouvelle de Lisbonne (NOVA). Il est l’auteur de livres et articles sur l’histoire de la médecine et de l’alchimie médicale. Ses recherches actuelles portent principalement sur le contrôle des livres et des idées dans la première modernité, notamment la microcensure des textes, ainsi que sur la transcription automatique (HTR) des archives de l’Inquisition, institution clef dans l’histoire de la censure.
