On October 5–6 2023, the 11th session of the Scientific Conference “Private Life of Poles in the 19th Century” took place at the University of Warmia and Mazury. The main theme this year was the theme of death. During the conference, researchers from eight cities presented 25 speeches in seven panels. The conference was introduced by professor Igor Borkowski from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw.
The large number of speakers reflects the interest in the conference and another success of the organizing committee. The participants presented not only the organization of funeral ceremonies and the accompanying rituals, but also the motif of death in literature and the private experience of mourning in the privacy of home.
