Author Biographies

  • Nicoleta Cinpoeş, University of Worcester, UK

    Nicoleta Cinpoeş is Professor of Shakespeare Studies at the University of Worcester, UK, an active member of ESRA, the International Shakespeare Association, and the British Shakespeare Association. In 2010, she founded the Shakespeare in Performance Seminar at the Craiova International Shakespeare Festival, which she now chairs. She is international adviser for the York International Shakespeare Festival, helped launch the Ivano-Frankivsk International Shakespeare Festival, Ukraine (2024), and co-organises the Chișinău International Shakespeare Festival, Moldova. Her latest publication is Shakespeare on European Festival Stages (Bloomsbury, 2022), co-edited with Florence March and Paul Prescott.

  • Anna Kowalcze-Pawlik, University of Lodz, Poland

    Anna Kowalcze-Pawlik, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Department of American Studies and Mass Media at the Faculty of International and Political Studies, University of Lodz, where she teaches literary and cultural studies and serves as deputy editor of Multicultural Shakespeare. She has served as a board member of the Polish Shakespeare Association, of which she was elected president in 2024. She has published on Shakespeare in translation and performance, the history of monstrosity and the cultural history of emotions. She supports the European Shakespeare Festivals Network as an advisor.
