Translation of adapted Russian folk tales – a classroom experiment

The article presents the results of an experiment conducted on two groups of students engaged in translating into Polish selected Russian folk tales (already adapted into standard literary Russian and equipped with explanations). The author considers the types and extent of translation transformations, as well as the consequences of applying two different strategies – domestication and foreignization.
