„Lone soldiers" – żołnierze bez rodzin

Abstrakt

W Siłach Obronnych Izraela (Cewa Hagana le-Jisra’el) służbę pełni ponad6000 żołnierzy – ochotników spoza tego kraju. Większość z nich pochodzi ze Stanów Zjednoczonych, Francji, Rosji oraz Argentyny. W ich rekrutacji pośredniczą takie organizacje żydowskie jak: Mahal-IDF-Volunteers, Sar-El, czy Nefesh B’Nefesh. Biura tych stowarzyszeń znajdują się przede wszystkim w Europie i Stanach Zjednoczonych. Młodzi mężczyźni i kobiety, z których większość w izraelskiej armii otrzymuje status lone soldiers, pełnią służbę w różnych rodzajach sił zbrojnych i jednostkach wojskowych, także w tych, które biorą udział w bezpośrednich działaniach bojowych.

Kim byli pierwsi ochotnicy, a kim są obecnie młodzi ludzie, którzy dobrowolnie zdecydowali się na wyjazd z kraju, opuszczenie własnych rodzin i przyjaciół? Jakie towarzyszą im problemy, z czego one wynikają i w jaki sposób próbuje się pomóc samotnym żołnierzom? Artykuł jest próbą odpowiedzi na te pytania i stanowi ogólny zarys problemu.
