Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to all of the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Editorial instructions, which is found in "For Authors".
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • The Author declares that the Work is an original creation and that they have the appropriate copyrights to the Work, including moral as well as economic rights. If the applicant is not the sole author, he/she undertakes to indicate the percentage share of all co-authors in the preparation of the text. This information should be entered in the field "Rights – percentage share of authors".
  • The Author hereby declares that they did not use generative artificial intelligence tools during the preparation of the manuscript.  If otherwise, the author undertakes to indicate the name of the tool, the purpose and the exact reason for use and confirms that he/she has carried out a thorough, critical verification of the text, especially in terms of the possibility of generating false, incomplete or biased information, the occurrence of plagiarism or lack of/incorrect attribution of authorship, and edited it accordingly. The information should be entered in the "Comments for the Editor" field.
  • The author assures of no violations of publication ethics and takes full responsibility for the content of the publication. The Author acknowledges and accepts that, in the event of the Author making a false statement, they shall be liable for any damages incurred by the University of Lodz.
  • The author undertakes to inform about any possible conflicts of interest in the "Comments for the Editor" field.
  • The Author acknowledges that in the event of the text being withdrawn due to his/her fault, he/she will be charged with the costs of review and proofreading.

Author Guidelines

Authors interested in publishing their work in "Biuletyn Szadkowski" are requested to submit their manuscripts - prepared in accordance with the following requirements - both as a printed copy (A4 format, pages numbered) and in electronic form on a CD (in Word for Windows XP format) or via email.

Article Preparation Guidelines


Articles should not exceed 4,000 words and, including figures, tables, etc., should not exceed 20 standard pages (one standard page contains 1,800 characters). The manuscript should include an introduction, a description of the research methodology, analysis results, a summary, and references. A summary in Polish (no more than 200 words) and both the title and abstract in English must be included.

References should be placed in footnotes and must contain complete bibliographic information. The bibliography list, arranged alphabetically, should include:

1. Books – Author’s (or editor’s) surname and initials, title (in italics), publisher, place and year of publication.
2. Journal articles – Author’s surname and initials, article title in italics, journal title (in regular font and in quotation marks), year of publication, volume/issue number in Arabic numerals, and page numbers.
3. Book chapters – Author’s surname and initials, chapter title, editor’s initials and surname, book title in italics, publisher, place and year of publication, and page numbers of the chapter.


Graphic materials (including scanned images) should be submitted as separate files (preferred formats: JPEG, TIFF, PNG) in print-ready resolution (300 DPI). The locations where graphics should appear must be clearly marked in the text. All diagrams, maps, and schemes should be prepared in a form suitable for direct reproduction (without redrawing).

Footnotes should be numbered consecutively throughout the text. Any acknowledgments may be placed at the end of the manuscript.

The following must be attached to the article:
1. A short biographical note: full name of the author(s), academic title and degree, place of employment, current position, correspondence address, phone number, and email address;
2. An abstract not exceeding 200 words in both Polish and English;
3. A list of keywords in both Polish and English describing the article’s subject matter;
4. A declaration of the sources of funding for the research presented in the article or for the article’s creation;
5. A statement detailing the contribution of each co-author to the article;
6. A declaration of the article’s original character.
