Andrzej Stasiak

A Doctor of Earth Sciences, works at the Institute of Urban Geography, Tourism and Geoinformation, University of Łódź. The Chief Editor of the “Turyzm/Tourism” scientific journal since 2019. In 2000-2012 – the Vice-Rector for Research and the Rector of the College of Tourism and Hotel Industry (WSTH) in Łódź, the science editor of the WSTH Publishing House and of the “Tourism and Hotel Industry” scientific journal (2002-2011).

The manager and an expert in numerous EU tourism projects, such as “Tourism – a common cause” (2006-2007), “Tourism for the region – An PhD students’ integrated development program” (2011-2012), “Grant Plus” (2012-2013), “Future in tourism – a comprehensive support for teachers seeking employment in the HTR sector” (2014-2015). A lecturer at courses on tourist products (POT, ROTWŁ, ZROT), a coach at courses for tour guides (Grand Tour, Orbis, Triada, Rainbow Tours), a member of the Provincial Examining Board for Tour Guides in Łódź (2000-2013), the Implementation Committee of the Tourism Development Program for Łódź Province in 2007-2020 as well as the group working on the legal regulations regarding tourist trails in Poland, at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. A co-originator and co-organizer of a series of conferences entitled “Culture and Tourism” (2006-2015). The author and co-author of over 120 publications on tourism marketing, cultural tourism and social tourism, including monographs and student’s coursebooks: Tourist product (3 Polish and 1 Russian edition), Tourism geography of Poland. A guide for cultural tourism practice, A Vademecum for an organizer of tourism for people with disabilities, Basics of gastronomy, From food to culinary tourism, Tourist trails. From an idea to realization. In recent years, has been involved in research on tourism in experience economy.
