Abstract

The article Jerzy Giedroyc and “Bunt Młodych” in the socio-political life of interwar Poland shows known and unknown aspects of Jerzy Giedroycs work from the late 20–30s of the twentieth century, as the founder and editor of the journal “Bunt Młodych” [Youths Rebellion]. The author presents the reasons for founding of the journal, ideological program and social tasks undertook by journal creators, as well as reflections of these goals in journalism developed on the pages of “Bunt Młodych”.

Editors’ opinion on vision of future Poland and its character have been analyzed; great discussions on this subject and the role of Ukrainians in the life of II Republic were shown. Mutual goals of socio-political concept of the journal, which Jerzy Giedroyc promoted by referring to Jagiellonian traditions and Polish Promethean were highlighted, as well as his evaluation of Polish-Ukrainian relations. Most known authors of “Bunt Młodych” and also its creative role in the interwar Poland were presented.
