Abstract

In a group of 1302 men and 751 women in the age from 13 to 70 years, the frequency of the particular leg crossing types was investigated. It was found that type R (putting the right leg over the left one) occurs more frequently than type L (crossing the left leg over the right one). Its frequency is higher in women (73.10%) than in men (68.13%). The frequency of type R increases irregularly with age. In comparison with similar characteristics in children and adolescents from Lizbona it is more frequent in parallel age groups of Polish children.
