In the paper the novel Tre metri sopra il cielo and its Polish translation are analyzed. Different values of the indices of lexical richness of the Italian and the Polish text lead to the further analysis of stereotyped expressions in Moccia’s novel and in the Polish translation. Comparing the most frequent expressions in the semiautomated manner you discover that to every Italian expression, often repeated, correspond several Polish translations. These solutions are classified in Berman’s terms as nobilitation. In parallel, we try to justify the translators’ choice of nobilitation as adequate in case of paraliterature.
