Call for Papers - Tourism Pathways in Post-Industrial Destinations: Using Industrial Heritage for Sustainable Development
We are pleased to announce a forthcoming thematic issue of the Turyzm/Tourism journal (indexed in SCOPUS) dedicated to the theme "Tourism pathways in post-industrial destinations: using industrial heritage for sustainable development".
Post-industrial destinations face a fundamental question: what development paradigm can follow the decline of industrial monocultures? This thematic issue of Turyzm/Tourism invites innovative, critical and future-oriented contributions exploring the role of tourism - particularly industrial heritage tourism - in shaping sustainable and resilient development pathways within local and regional systems. Important dates:
- 12 June 2026 - Abstract submission (250-500 words) to Tomasz Napierała (tomasz.napierala@geo.uni.lodz.pl)
- 19 June 2026 - Editors' decision on abstracts
- 4 December 2026 - Full paper submission via the Turyzm/Tourism journal online system
- 19 March 2027 - Final editors' decision
- 25 June 2027 - Publication
All procedures between full paper submission and the final editors' decision will be conducted on a rolling basis. Accepted papers may be published online in an early view format.
