Polish model of substitution of the President

The aim of article is to present the normative analysis of Article 131 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland regulating the issue of presidential substitution. This issue is extremely important from the point of view of the continuity of state power assessed primarily in the international field. Considerations concerning Article 131 of the Constitution are based on doctrinal views as well as on new, untouched regulations contained in the Act on the Organisation and Procedure of Proceedings before the Constitutional Tribunal. The concluding aspect of the article is a critical assessment of the regulations contained both in the above-mentioned Act and in the Constitution itself.
