The article deals with a methodrlogical status of ecological rules formulated by Bergmann, Allen and Gloger and their relation to the Law of Natural Selection. The author states that these rules assume the law of natural selection and consequently are explained by that law. Moreover a supposition, that ecological rules constitute theoretical prerequisites for the theory of natural selection in a systematic approach to bilological knowledge is expressed.
