A preliminary report on anthropological examination of skeletal materials from Dakhla Oasis, Egipt

Archeological excavations carried burial grounds and in monumental tombs of Dakhla Oasis, Upper Egypt in 1977 - 1979 have yielded several hundred skeletons dated from 6th to 26th Dynasty. The present author reports here results of ageing and sexing of about 100 individuals from 26th Dynasty and offers some generalizing remarks on their paleopathology. A skeleton of the oasis governor (6th Dynasty)
is described separately.
