The Annales. Ethics in Economic Life (published 1998-2020) is a scientific journal dedicated to ethical aspects of economic life. The articles concentrate on the ethical consequences of phenomena taking place in the global and European economy, corporate social responsibility, business ethics, the processes of creation and enforcement of ethical codes and ethical problems of the academic community. The authors who publish in the 'Annales' come from national and foreign research centres as well. We have the honour to welcome to our pages the leading Polish business ethicists, economists, econometrics, representatives of the public sector and politicians, who express their views on the ethical aspects of economic life.
The journal was established in 1998 by Salezjańska Wyższa Szkoła Ekonomii i Zarządzania (Salesian Higher School of Economics and Management) in Lodz. This business college had functioned as its editor till 2012, when this periodical was taken over by the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Lodz. Despite this change the 'Annales. Ethics in Economic Life' is being published uninterruptedly, and the new, 15th volume came out in print in May 2012.
Since 2014 the Annales. Ethics in Economic Life has been published quarterly.
From the very beginning the journal has been accompanied by a scientific conference 'Ethics in economic life' organised in Lodz since 1997. This annual meeting provides incentives for reflection and exchange of views of the scientific community, which in many cases leads to the drawing up of papers subsequently published in the journal.
