Abstract

The article offers a discussion of Europe’s space within contemporary migration novelists. It presents a dual vision of Europe’s image. If the immigration aspirant thinks it is a promise land with her great achievements, in the minds of those who manage to make it into her land, she is far from the home of success and self-fulfillment. Rather, the analysis inspires a continent where is paving way for the decay of social values. Our analysis shall follow a two way axis: the mirage construction end the deconstruction of paradise Europe.

Enseignant-chercheur attaché à l’Ecole Normale Supérieure du Burundi depuis novembre 2000, Dr Fulgence MANIRAMBONA a partagé cette vie professionnelle avec la formation à l’Université du Burundi, à l’Université de Limoges et à l’Université Libre de Bruxelles où il a soutenu sa thèse en mai 2011. Il est auteur de quatre articles déjà publiés dans des revues scientifiques : « De la reconfiguration pluridentitaire de l’africanité : l’écriture romanesque d’Alain Mabanckou », in Mosaïque, 5, 2010, pp. 95-115 ; « L’ostension de l’hybridité dans l’œuvre romanesque d’Abdourahman Ali Waberi », Cahiers de Linguistique, 35/1, 2010, pp.115-132 ; « Esthétique interlinguistique dans l’écriture romanesque d’Alain Mabanckou, Synergies Afrique des Grands Lacs, 4, 2015, pp.77-87 ; « De l’identité  “rhizome” comme perspective de la mondialisation de la littérature africaine diasporique ». Revue de l’Université du Burundi – Série Sciences Humaines- n°16, 2015, pp. 111-124. Il est, par ailleurs, auteur d’une contribution à un ouvrage collectif paru chez Karthala en 2016 : « Esthétique de la réappropriation linguistique du romancier africain francophone contemporain », in MBASSI ATEBA, Raymond (dir.), Francophonie et francophilie littéraires, Paris, Editions Karthala, 2016, pp. 293-308. Il est, enfin, chercheur au sein du module « LI.LA.C » (Littératures et Langues en contacts), de l’Unité de Recherche LADISCO de l’Université Libre de Bruxelles.
