Rules regarding special issues
Bulletin of the Section of Logic, being a member of COPE since 2018, adheres to the guidelines for editing guest issues following COPE recommendations: https://doi.org/10.24318/7cKLAia0
- Special issues consist of the articles focussed on a particular subject that falls within the thematic scope of the Bulletin of the Section of Logic.
- Special issues are overseen by Guest Editors who are specialists in the respective field.
- Manuscripts for special issues should be prepared according to the general submission rules (see here) and submitted via the editorial platform.
- Each submission for the special issue is managed by the Guest Editors.
- Guest Editors coordinate the editorial process of articles submitted to the special issue and are responsible for assigning external peer-reviewers.
- All articles published in the Bulletin of the Section of Logic, inclusive of those to appear in a special issue, are peer-reviewed by at least two external reviewers.
- The Guest Editors are responsible for sending out review requests, collecting the reviews received, as well as informing the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Team about the ongoing progress of the review process of the articles submitted to the special issues.
- After the peer-review process is completed and the Reviewers' recommendations have been taken into account by the Authors and the Guest Editor, the articles along with the completed review forms are forwarded to the Editorial Team.
- The Editor-in-Chief and Executive Editors verify the compliance of the articles' content with the journal's thematic scope and whether the review process was conducted correctly.
- The final decision on the publication of articles selected for special issue is made by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal in consultation with the Guest Editor. However, the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Team reserve the right to withdraw an article if that article exceeds the thematic scope of the journal, does not meet the definition of a scientific article, contains false information, or if the author has violated the ethical principles adopted by the journal.
- In other matters, the principles of publication ethics adopted by the Editorial Team apply (See: Publication Ethics).
- The Executive Editors are responsible for forwarding all articles to the Publisher.
- Special issues are published within the journal publishing schedule.
- Calls for papers for special issues are announced in advance on the journal's website.
