Nowe ujęcie kryzysu uchodźczego: od pomocy do wzajemnych powiązań

W artykule twierdzę, że nie powinniśmy ujmować debaty na temat obowiązku niesienia pomocy uchodźcom w kategoriach ratunku. To ujęcie, przedstawiające państwa zachodnie jako ratujące uchodźców przed krzywdami, których same nie wyrządziły, nie oddaje adekwatnie rzeczywistości doświadczanej przez nich w XXI wieku. Twierdzę, że potrzebne jest nowe ujęcie uwzględniające pośrednie krzywdy (secondary harms) doświadczane przez uchodźców, ubiegających się o azyl lub próbujących znaleźć schronienie albo w obozach, albo w przestrzeni miejskiej. Te pośrednie krzywdy stanowią poważne naruszenia praw człowieka i uniemożliwiają uchodźcom korzystanie z minimum warunków godności ludzkiej. Dlatego metafora ratunku jest nieodpowiednia i, co ważniejsze, uniemożliwia prowadzenie rzeczowej debaty dotyczącej zobowiązań państw, w szczególności państw zachodnich, wobec uchodźców.
