Focus and Scope of the Journal
e-Scripta Romanica is an interdisciplinary scientific journal whose purpose is to disseminate the results of research in Romance languages, in the following fields:
- linguistics (lexicology, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, dialectology);
- literature (from Middle Ages to the present);
- theory and practice of Romance language translation.
As an international publication, e-Scripta Romanica publishes contributions in French, Spanish and Italian.
It is published annually, in electronic format only, with the intention of spreading the study of Romance philology in the most extensive way.
e-Scripta Romanica enables free and immediate access to all content published through its website.

Editorial Process
Articles for e-Scripta Romanica can be submitted through the journal’s website between 1st January and 31st March. Afterwards the first selection of papers is made by the Editorial Team. Choices are based on various criteria such as the topic or the language of the submitted texts as well as the accordance of the article to the publication ethics and editorial instructions required by the journal.
Each of the selected articles is then sent to two independent reviewers (academic experts in that field) whose evaluations strictly follow the rules of a double blind peer review.
All authors whose articles are selected for publication are informed about the result of the evaluation and about possible corrections required by the reviewers by 31st July. Authors whose articles were not selected for the issue will also be informed by that date. The journal is published at the end of each year (generally in late November or in early December).
Open Access Policy
The basic license for publishing articles in the journal is CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 (Attribution – Non-Commercial Use – No Derivatives). At the author's request it is possible to publish it under the CC-BY (Attribution) license.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
