Focus and Scope of the Journal

Acta Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Psychologica is a annual published in cooperation with the Institute of Psychology of the University of Lodz. The journal is available online in the Open Access formula. It presents and popularizes scientific and research works in the field of general psychology, cognitive psychology, health psychology, clinical psychology, family psychology, work psychology, organization psychology, career counseling and advertising psychology.

The main aim of the journal is to present and disseminate reliable knowledge in the field of psychology and its subdisciplines on the functioning of man in the world - to create a place for discussion on pedagogical, social and medical sciences.

The pages of the journal are available not only to employees of the Institute of Psychology of the University of Lodz, but also to other psychologists from Poland and abroad. Editors of Acta Universistatis Lodziensis. Folia Psychologica follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE - Committee on Publication Ethics). The COPE Code of Conduct and Ethical Publishing Practice Guidelines are available at: http://www.publicationethics.org.

The review process

1. Each scientific article submitted to the journal Acta Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Psychologica is reviewed by two external reviewers.

2. The editors use the "double-blind review process" model, which means that both authors and reviewers do not know their identities.

3. Communication between reviewers and authors of articles takes place through the Secretary of the Editorial Committee.

4. The review is in writing.

5. The review of the article consists of:

  • substantive evaluation of the article on a scale of 1-4
  • formal evaluation of the article on a scale of 1-4
  • descriptive evaluation of the article (reviewer's comments for the author and reviewer's comments for the editors)
  • reviewer's recommendation regarding the further fate of the article (General Rating in the Article Review Card - PDF)

6. The Editorial Board's decision to accept or reject a given article is based on the recommendations of both reviewers.

7. A list of reviewers is attached to each issue of the journal. The editors do not disclose the names of reviewers in the assignment to a given article.

Open Access Policy

The basic license for publishing articles in the journal is CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 (Attribution – Non-Commercial Use – No Derivatives). At the author's request it is possible to publish it under the CC-BY (Attribution) license.
