In 2024, Research in Language achieved a CiteScore of 0,7, placing the journal in the 59th percentile in the Arts and Humanities Language and Linguistics and in the 55th percentile in Social Sciences Linguistics and Language categories.

What is CiteScore?

CiteScore is a citation impact metric. It is calculated by dividing the number of citations received by a journal over the past four years (including the year the score is reported for) by the number of documents published in that same four-year period. The 2024 CiteScore results cover citations and publications from 2021–2024.

CiteScore is a non-standardized indicator, meaning it does not account for differences between disciplines. Therefore, it should not be used to compare journals across different subject areas.

To assess a journal’s impact within its field, percentile values should be taken into account.

Position in the ranking

The relative standing of the journal in its specific subject field is indicated by percentiles calculated from the journal’s CiteScores. A journal can be evaluated in more than one discipline.

The percentile values of „Research in Language” were 59 and 55, respectively, which means that the journal was included in 41% (Arts and Humanities Language and Linguistics) and 45% (Social Sciences Linguistics and Language) of the best-rated journals in these fields indexed in Scopus.
